Menu Plan 5/24 - 6/20

Menu planning has really been saving our family money. If I stay on task and have all the ingredients in the house, I'm not tempted to order a pizza or call for Chinese. It's been a great time saver as well. Today, I had dinner in the crock pot by 10:30am and when the boys and I returned from errands and my husband from work at 5:30pm, dinner was ready. And it was good!!

Week 1 - May 24-30
Sunday - homemade pizza
Monday - grilled chicken breast, broccoli and cauliflower salad, grilled bread
Tuesday - BLT's, macaroni salad
Wednesday - breakfast
Thursday (Date Night) - fried egg sandwiches, potato chips, veggies
Friday - Chinese delivery
Saturday - leftovers

Week 2 - May 31-June 6
Sunday - homemade pizza
Monday - baked chicken legs, mashed potatoes, creamed peas
Tuesday - shredded beef taquitos (For the Love of Cooking), Spanish rice
Wednesday - breakfast
Thursday (Date Night) - leftovers
Friday - crock pot chicken, baked sweet potatoes with spicy brown sugar
Saturday - grilled burgers, chips, veggies

Week 3 - June 7-13
out of town

Week 4 - June 14-20
Sunday - out of town
Monday - frozen pizza (arriving home that afternoon)
Tuesday - Asian chicken breast (For the Love of Cooking), Oriental salad
Wednesday - breakfast
Thursday (Date Night) - leftovers
Friday - BBQ sandwiches, tater tots, mixed veggies
Saturday - chicken and rice

Menu Plan 4/26-5/23

May is the month of graduation parties around here. So I plan meals for Friday and Saturday night and see if there's any parties that will take the place of my having to cook. (Yay!!) It's also getting warm enough to start grilling. I plan on grilling most Mondays. If the weather isn't great, I'll move that meal to another day of the week when it's nicer out.

Week 1 - April 26-May 2
Sunday - homemade pizza
Monday - spaghetti, breadsticks
Tuesday - chicken salad sandwiches, chips, fresh veggies
Wednesday - breakfast
Thursday (Date Night) - chicken and rice, lettuce salad
Friday - leftovers (mom gone)
Saturday - graduation parties

Week 2 - May 3-9
Sunday - homemade pizza
Monday - grilled burgers, fried potatoes and veggies
Tuesday - meal at Growth Group
Wednesday - breakfast
Thursday (Date Night) - leftovers
Friday - graduation party
Saturday - graduation party

Week 3 - May 10-16
Sunday - MOTHER'S DAY - husband cooks? ;)
Monday - grilled brats, corn casserole
Tuesday - crock pot chicken & stuffing, mint peas
Wednesday - breakfast
Thursday (Date Night) - leftovers
Friday - crispy-baked chicken legs, egg noddles, salad
Saturday - Korean beef short ribs, rice, Chinese veggies

Week 4 - May 17-23
Sunday - homemade pizza
Monday - tacos, potato "oles"
Tuesday - meal at Growth Group
Wednesday - breakfast
Thursday (Date Night) - leftovers
Friday - wedding
Saturday - marinated pork chops, salad, corn

Sunday - homemade pizza
Monday - BBQ sandwiches, cole slaw (from last Saturday's leftover roast)
Tuesday - meal at Growth Group
Wednesday - breakfast
Thursday (Date Night) - leftovers?
Friday - breakfast with Dad (mom gone overnight)
Saturday - chicken and rice, lettuce salad

Week 2 - April 5-11
Sunday - homemade pizza
Monday - tacos, "potato ole's"
Tuesday - meal at Growth Group
Wednesday - out of town
Thursday (Date Night) - out of town
Friday - tavern, chips, fresh veggies
Saturday - Chicken Noodle Hold the Soup - Rachel Ray's Recipe

Week 3 - April 12-18
Sunday - leftovers
Monday - BLT's
Tuesday - beef wellington, sweet potatoes
Wednesday - breakfast
Thursday (Date Night) - leftovers
Friday - grill steaks, fried potatoes and veggies (grill chicken for Saturday)
Saturday - Chinese salad, grilled chicken

Week 4 - April 19-25
Sunday - homemade pizza
Monday - farmhouse BBQ muffins, tater tots
Tuesday - meal at Growth Group
Wednesday - breakfast
Thursday (Date Night) - porcupine meatballs, baked potatoes
Friday - out of town
Saturday - out of town

Menu Plan 3/1-3/28

I plan my dinner menu 2-4 weeks in advance. I watch for good deals as I cook and move things around within my four week plan.

Week 1 - March 1-7
Sunday - Penne with White Beans and Spinach - Short Stop's Recipe; breadsticks - Mrs. D's recipe
Monday - leftovers
Tuesday - meal at Growth Group
Wednesday - breakfast
Thursday (Date Night) - chicken and rice, corn
Friday - porcupine meatballs, baked potatoes, cream peas
Saturday - leftovers

Week 2 - March 8-14
Sunday - homemade pizza
Monday - sloppy joes, chips, veggies
Tuesday - Chicken Noodle Hold the Soup - Rachel Ray's Recipe
Wednesday - breakfast
Thursday (Date Night) - beef wellington, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole
Friday - birthday party at Valentino's
Saturday - hobo dinners

Week 3 - March 15-21
Sunday - homemade pizza
Monday - tacos, "potato ole's"
Tuesday - meal at Growth Group
Wednesday - french toast, eggs, bacon, fruit
Thursday (Date Night) - club brunch ring, salad
Friday - roasted chicken, roasted sweet potatoes, dilled corn
Saturday - Nacho Pie, salad

Week 4 - March 22-28
Sunday - salad pizza, chicken breasts
Monday - spaghetti, breadsticks, salad
Tuesday - lemon baked cod, mashed potatoes, peas
Wednesday - breakfast
Thursday (Date Night) - Panera Gift Card
Friday - hobo dinners
Saturday - something from the crock pot

That's the plan. Things do have a tendency to change, so we'll see how well I stick to the plan this month. Considering it's "No Spend March" I'll be more diligent at sticking to the menu.
